As we gear up for the second edition of the HR Technology Awards, we are excited to introduce Dustin Posthuma of De Selectie, one of this year’s new jury members. De Selectie provides top recruiters and recruitment marketers. In this interview, Dustin shares his insights and highlights the importance of HR technology in today’s recruitment landscape.
What motivated you to participate as a jury member for this year’s HR Technology Awards?
“Being part of a company that outsources recruitment for medium-sized organizations, the past year and the coming years are completely centered around innovation. If you don’t have IT and AI high on the agenda, you won’t remain relevant. With about 50 colleagues, we constantly evaluate tools for their added value to our clients. This experience allows me to bring a practical perspective to the awards.”
What trends or innovations in HR technology have particularly impressed you recently?
“I am particularly impressed by tools like Deepler and Carv, which use AI and assessments in unconventional ways. Deeper, for example, continuously measures employee experience and makes use of collective intelligence, allowing for quick interventions. This tool has been effective for both our clients and our own organization. Additionally, tools like Carve helps reduce administrative workload, enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience.”
Why are awards like the HR Technology Awards important for the industry?
“The HR Technology Awards give newcomers an opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas. It’s crucial to evaluate whether these ideas translate into practical and effective solutions. The awards provide a platform for different players to present themselves and for the interested parties to identify tools that are worth considering for their work.”
What criteria do you prioritize when assessing a project or product for the awards?
“I focus on practical application. The key question is whether the tool will be used in practice and if it will significantly enhance efficiency or provide substantial benefits. I look pragmatically at the cost and what it delivers both directly and indirectly. My entrepreneurial background helps me assess how new tools will be received and whether organizations are ready to invest in them.”
Are there specific trends or themes you will focus on while judging this year’s entries?
“I am particularly interested in AI tools and the organizations behind them. It’s essential to understand the roadmap and development plans of these tools. They must integrate seamlessly into existing HR processes without adding extra management burdens. The goal is to ensure that the chosen tools not only promise innovative solutions but also deliver practical and impactful results.”
