Here are the main USPs of Ceridian Dayforce
SuccessDay is platform agnostic. This means that we guide the implementation of different HCM software packages and work independently of vendors. In this blog, our consultant Laurentiu Chera talks about his experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
Laurentiu grew up in Romania and moved to England for his studies (Psychology and a master’s degree in Human Resources International Management). He stayed there after graduation because he was able to work in several interesting HR roles. While working as an HR coordinator at Thales, he found that his particular interest was in roles at the intersection of HR and IT. “I became adept at using Workday’s HCM system but wanted to deepen and broaden my knowledge even further,” he said.
He decided to look into HRIT vacancies. Through LinkedIn, he came across an interesting job opening at SuccessDay. Although this was a Dutch company, he decided to apply anyway. “In retrospect, it turned out to be the best decision of my career! I knew immediately: this is what I want to do!”
International workforce
Laurentiu joined SuccessDay in January 2022 as a junior consultant. Based in England, he works remotely for various clients. Managing Director Bas Eggelaar: “We now have specialists working for us in almost 10 countries. We don’t care where they are, as long as they are good, want to keep developing, and are a match for our corporate culture.”
For Laurentiu, that is certainly the case. “I feel part of the family in spite of the distance. The cooperation goes very smoothly. The SuccessDay corporate culture certainly contributes to this. Communication is fast and easy, their way of working is very efficient, but there is still time to have some fun. They are very direct in the way they communicate, and I really like that! In England they communicate much more indirectly and informally. The Dutch straightforwardness suits me a lot better.”
Easy data import
Laurentiu recently attended training on Ceridian Dayforce, a comprehensive HCM cloud platform from North America that combines HR, payroll, benefits, employee management, timekeeping, and talent management. “In the past, Ceridian was sometimes criticized for how complex and time-consuming the implementation of the package could be compared to other packages. That is different now! The current version can be effortlessly implemented and is very user-friendly,” says the SuccessDay consultant.
He finds Ceridian to be better organized than many other HCM packages. “Compared to other systems, it is very easy to load customer data into Ceridian Dayforce. In addition, the user manuals are clear and provide helpful tips & tricks. It also comes with an integrated training system with demos, videos and a pleasant practice environment.
Unified system
Because it is an all-in-one solution, customers do not have to rely on (often) fragile integrations with other systems. It makes transactions seamless and real-time, eliminating the need for duplicate data entry, manual workarounds, and batch processes. This ensures a uniform and pleasant user experience, reduced training time, faster user adoption, and improved Return on Investment (ROI).
Ceridian Dayforce consists of the following modules:
- Payroll
- Benefits
- Onboarding
- Performance
- Learning
- Dashboards
- Human Resources
- Workforce Management
- Recruiting
- Engagement
- Compensation
- Succession Planning
- Document Management
New kid on the block
According to Laurentiu, the User Interface (UI) is easy, not overcomplicated. “Compared to other systems, at first sight the design looks a little less slick. For example, you can’t adjust the colors yourself. On the other hand, Dayforce does allow you to see everything at a glance. That means you don’t have to scroll or click between multiple tabs. This allows you to do more with less mouse clicks.”
The SuccessDay consultant views Ceridian Dayforce as the new kid on the block who is a little nerdy. “But don’t be afraid to get along with nerds. They get the job done. It really is a solid HCM.”
Laurentiu—now that he has successfully completed the training—is eager to put in more hours with Ceridian’s HRIT system. “I have only just begun, but what I have seen already has been quite impressive. In addition, because of my HR background, I have a good understanding of the target audience and can advise clients well before, during and after implementation.”
