On September 19, 2023, the first edition of the HR Technology Awards took place. During the well-attended event, a professional jury presented 3 awards for the most promising HRIT transformations in organizations and products and solutions for scale-ups and large companies. The award show was attended by over 100 CHROs, HR directors, and HRIT experts. Michel Stokvis, Senior Director of the Randstad Innovation Fund, delivered the keynote address. The evening was hosted by Paul Sanders and Bas van Werven from BNR. During the dinner, there was lively networking, and attendees enthusiastically exchanged knowledge and experiences.
Initiator Bas Eggelaar of SuccessDay said after the event that he looked back on a successful occasion. “It’s wonderful to see that an idea that originated in the shower has grown into something beautiful. Given all the enthusiastic responses, the quality of the entries, the number of participants, and the expert jury, it can safely be said that there was a pressing need for an independent award show for HRIT solutions from both major software providers and scale-ups, as well as for HR transformations using innovative technology. We plan to make this an annual recurring event.”
The jury consisted of chairman Anne Jaakke (HR Changemaker), Louis Luijten (various board positions & Alumni CIO ASML), Rolf Jorna (Alumni Head of Group HR Action), Derk Jan Koole (Business Leader Career at Mercer), Helen Richardson (CHRO of Renewi), Erwin Hoogeveen (CHRO Fugro), and Pascale Peters (Professor of Strategic Human Resource Management at Nyenrode Business University).
During the networking event at De Kazerne in Brainport, the 9 nominees (spread across 3 categories) had the opportunity to pitch their HRIT product or project to the jury and the audience. In the end, Just Eat Takeaway.com, Workday Peakon Employee Voice, and Crunchr took home an award. In addition to the award, Crunchr also received an encouragement prize of 10,000 euros from the HR Technology Awards organization. Read more about the winners here.
