SuccessDay recently hosted a hands-on AI Advisory Workshop during a client off-site with HR leaders from across the globe. The session was an important step in the client’s journey to understand how artificial intelligence can deliver tangible value in HR. Amber van Oort was part of the SuccessDay team during the workshop and shares more about the session.
From Exploration to Application: Applying AI in HR
The workshop was a condensed version of our AI Advisory approach. It combined knowledge sharing, interactive discussions, and practical working moments that helped participants translate ideas into realistic AI use cases in HR. Together, we explored three questions:
- What does AI mean in the context of HR?
- Where do we stand today, individually and as a function?
- Which use cases bring the most value for our organization?
The group brought diverse experiences and perspectives. While many had some exposure to AI tools, the HR function as a whole is still in an early stage of adoption.
Key AI in HR Insights from the Workshop
Several themes consistently stood out during the session:
- Efficiency and creativity are seen as the biggest benefits, helping HR teams spend less time on repetitive tasks and more on people-focused work.
- Participants were motivated and curious, already experiencing how AI tools in HR are influencing daily tasks.
- AI has strong potential to streamline HR processes and reduce bias in decision-making, especially in recruitment and performance management.
- A clear AI strategy is still developing, and the need for a roadmap for responsible adoption was widely acknowledged.
- Concerns such as data privacy, security, ethics, and the fear of human replacement need to be addressed before scaling solutions.
Practical AI Use Cases in HR
The session produced several concrete and relevant concepts tailored to the client’s priorities:
Attracting the Right Talent
AI can automate resume screening and structure feedback to improve decision-making in recruitment. This reduces time-to-hire and strengthens the ability to attract the right candidates.
Smarter Performance Management
By interpreting feedback and generating predictive insights, AI can reduce bias in performance reviews. This supports fair and growth-oriented development conversations.
Talent Radar
AI can help prevent unwanted attrition by predicting flight risk and supporting career pathing. This enables HR to take proactive steps to retain and develop top talent.
Looking Ahead: Responsible AI in HR
The workshop showed that HR is still early in its AI maturity, but the foundation of interest and ambition is strong. With the right roadmap and responsible implementation, AI can support HR in becoming more efficient, fair, and people-focused.
At SuccessDay we guide organizations in moving from exploration to execution. Always with a pragmatic approach and people at the center of transformation.
